Carmen Sutherland brings 15+ years of marketing to Insight to Action with a mix of corporate and entrepreneurial experiences. Her diverse background includes consulting, strategy and marketing management for businesses ranging in size from start-ups to one of the world’s largest retailers. Much of her experience is consumer focused – online, wholesale and bricks-and-mortar, though her consulting work led her through many different industries.
She began her marketing career at Gap Inc. in the Gap brand strategy group. Her final position was in the Consumer Research department managing and reporting insights for Gap Brand. Her marketing consultancy work brought together her corporate and entrepreneurial experiences to help small to medium companies apply large-company concepts. Projects ranged from pricing strategy, competitive analysis and marketing plans. During her consulting career she helped brand and launch numerous companies in industries as diverse as frozen yogurt to rock climbing equipment to economic consultants and lawyers. She is also a partner in her own entrepreneurial e-tail adventure, launching Fine & Folded Hand Fan Co. (fineandfolded.com) in 2015. She specializes in positioning, marketing communications and marketing plan development.
Ms. Sutherland has an MBA from London Business School with a focus on Marketing and Strategy. She has an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin.
